It’s hard to believe that just 12 years ago I founded Green Maids Cleaning in York Maine. What once began as a local green cleaning residential and commercial company has grown to serve homes and businesses across Southern Maine and Eastern New Hampshire. Although Green Maids Cleaning has undergone many changes over the years, our goal of providing customers with a superior clean that is both eco-friendly for the environment and safe for families, pets, and kids has remained the same.
I started Green Maids in 2009 after spending summers in York my whole life. My first job was in downtown York Beach, and throughout high school, I worked there over the summers. In my early 20’s I ended up moving to York for another job opportunity and lived there for about 10 years. It’s where I started Green Maids.
A few years after opening, I moved the business from York to Portsmouth to be more centrally located for all the areas we service including Hampton Falls, Exeter, Kittery, Dover, Eliot, Greenland, New Castle, Newington, Rye, and Stratham. It was also a strategic decision to move to a regenerated building (Regeneration Park) which aligns with the team’s beliefs on eco-mindedness!
The main office for Green Maids is located in Portsmouth, but the cleaning team and I remain present and involved in the York community by participating in beach clean-ups and connecting with locals and clients that have used our services for years. I truly enjoy giving back to the community that gave me so much over the summers growing up.
